Ring Lights
Dark Field Lights provide illumination that is projected at a shallow angle to the imaging surface, 45 degrees or less. Typical applications include reflective flat surface defect or edge detection, where the majority of the light may reflect away from the camera on the flat, featureless surface but defects may scatter the light to the camera, creating feature appropriate contrast. Dark field illuminators can be dedicated ring lights, or any general bar or spot light oriented at low angles of incidence, depending on defect orientation. Very low angle dark field ring lights must be deployed at close working distances to be effective.
Bright Field Lights provide illumination directly onto an object, at angles of incidence above 45 degrees from horizontal, creating distinct shadows or general purpose illumination depending on subjects features.. This type of lighting is effective when used on objects requiring high degrees of contrast, but may create unwanted specular reflections when directed at shiny or reflective materials because of the high angle of incidence. Working distances can be short to very long.

VP & VNP Series
VP Series cameras are thermoelectric Peltier (TEC) cooled high performance digital cameras. These cameras use cooling technology developed for, and used by, many demanding medical market customers. The TEC maintains the operating temperature of the CCD at up to 20 degrees below ambient temperature. These cameras provide a stable operating condition or the ability to expose for a long period of time to increase camera sensitivity. These cameras are ideal for industrial applications such as FPD inspection and microscopy.
VNP Series, pixel shift camera equipped with thermo-electric Peltier (TEC) cooled, is designed not only for applications where extremely high resolution is required but also where high image quality is essential. The TEC maintains the operating temperature of the CCD at up to 15 degrees below ambient temperature to reduce noise significantly. Pixel shift technology based on a precise piezoelectric stage allows image captures as high as 420 million pixels using the VNP-190MX cameras. These cameras are ideal for applications such as FPD inspection, document/film scanning, research and scientific imaging.

Apex Series Color Prism Cameras

JAI’s prism-based R-G-B cameras separate the incoming light into red, green and blue wavelengths, which are directed to three separate image sensors.
The cameras deliver exceptionally accurate R-G-B raw image data ideal for demanding color machine vision applications across a range of industries including pharmaceutical, electronics, printing/packaging and imaging in microscopy and medical diagnostics equipment.
The 3-sensor imaging technique provides more accurate per-pixel color values than those obtainable with the Bayer Mosaic technique relying on interpolation routines alone to define pixel color values. The cameras also offer more precise spatial resolution, enabling accurate edge detection and the ability to resolve smaller details.
The latest CMOS cameras in the Apex Series represent a large step forward in resolution, speed and color pre-processing functions all at a very reasonable price point.
This will enable many more vision designers to step up to the increased value that comes from incorporating a prism-based color camera from JAI.

Time Of Flight Camera

Basler’s Time-of-Flight Camera
Basler’s Time-of-Flight (ToF) Camera provides you with a 2D and a 3D image in one shot. The Basler ToF Camera offers an attractive solution for a wide variety of applications including logistics, factory automation, and biometrics.
How Does a ToF Camera Work?
The measurement principle is based on the time the light needs to travel from the light source to the object and back to the camera; the further the distance, the longer the time taken. Both light source and image acquisition are synchronized in such a way that the distances can be extracted and calculated from the image data.
